About

A long lost duke. A penniless Earl’s daughter. And a threat that could tear them apart forever.

When Major Wolfgang Stillman receives a letter informing him that he is the long-lost heir to the Duke of Wiltshire title, he is thrown into a world of high-society etiquette and expectations - a world he knows nothing about. Unaccustomed to the rules of Polite Society, Wolf must struggle to fit in while also trying to win the affection of Lady Mercy Davies.

Lady Mercy never expected to have a Season after the death of her beloved father. But, through the generosity of her grandmother, her dream of a Season finally comes true. During her first ball, she meets the Duke of Wiltshire, who sets her heart aflame with his masculine beauty.

But the Duke is not the only one who desires Mercy. When she goes missing during a shopping trip, Wolf must race against all odds to save the woman he loves more than life itself. Will he be able to find his beloved before it’s too late?

Praise for this book

5 stars A wartime hero becomes Duke and discovers a dangerous game of cat and mouse, all aimed at the woman who's secured his heart. This is book one in a brand new series by Debra Elizabeth. I dove in and was so taken by the characters, I finished it in one day. The descriptive narration is immersive. The world-building is chockful of historical facts, customs, and societal rules. Let's start with the descriptive narration. The setting is Regency England, an era I'm very familiar with. The author grabs the reader's attention from the first page and holds it to the last. She details every scene with historical accuracy. Wolf in Duke's Clothing transports you to the Regency era in a very relatable way. Then, there's the characters. Wolf is a hero from the war. He inherits his title and is thrust into the gentry. He doesn't know the rules of the ton and soon discovers he's in over his head. He's a wonderful hero and I enjoyed reading his story. Mercy, meanwhile, is a delightful young lady with unfortunate relations. She's got one season to find a match and falls for Wolf. Someone wants her for himself, though, and will do whatever he can to make her life end in scandal. The characters are well-written and propel the plot. I connected with Mercy right away. What she goes through broke my heart. The romance classic Regency and quite enjoyable. There's a fair bit of drama but the ending will make your heart swell. An entertaining Regency romance and a fine start to a new series. I look forward to the next book.
